Knitting

Knitting
Technical Block 1  
(Monday 31st Oct- Thursday 10th November)


Monday 31st October:
For the first day we started with the basics of casting on and just getting the hang of using the knitting machine in its self really. I've had experience with them before as they taught us on my foundation last year- I thoroughly enjoy knitting and find it therapeutic.
Tuesday 1st November:
Tuesday we started learning some techniques
  • Lace wholes
  • Laddering
  • Picco edges
  • 'e' Wrapping things into your knitting

Thursday 3rd November:
  • Gathering knitting
  • Adding old pieces of knitting to new piece
  • Knitting triangle shape
  • Knitting coloured stripes didnt get the chance to try any other techniques

Monday 7th November:
Feral pattern with sewn in sequins
  • Using feral patterns 
  • Using the hold tool to create wholes and 3D shapes
  • Circular knitting
Today my circular knitting went terribly, this is something i'm really not getting the hang of.

Tuesday 8th November:
I was really looking forward to learning cable knit because I think its really cool, but unfortunately I didnt get the hang of this either and only produced two very small samples but I mastered the fraying technique.

Thursday 10th November:
all we did on thursday was learn how to casting off (notes in Popup 1 notebook)
